How Rare Is the 10,000× Multiplier in Stake Plinko?

Stake Plinko offers 10,000× on both edge slots at Expert + 16 Rows. We break down the probability and explain what 1 in 32,768 actually means.

Stake Plinko now offers a maximum multiplier of 10,000×. It appears on both edge slots when the game is set to Expert + 16 Rows.

That number looks enormous. But how difficult is it to actually land there?

We can calculate the probability directly from the way a 16-row Plinko path is generated.

What Happens With 16 Rows?

At each row, the ball has two possible directions: left or right.

With 16 Rows, a complete path therefore contains 16 left/right decisions. The total number of possible sequences is:

POSSIBLE 16-ROW PATHS
216 = 65,536

Only one sequence reaches the far-left slot: the ball must go left 16 times in a row.

Only one sequence reaches the far-right slot: it must go right 16 times in a row.

Because Stake Plinko places 10,000× on both edge slots at Expert + 16 Rows, two of the 65,536 possible paths end at a 10,000× slot.

What Are the Odds of Hitting 10,000×?

Stake Plinko · Expert · 16 Rows
1 in 32,768
≈ 0.00305% per drop

The calculation is simple:

2 ÷ 65,536 = 1 ÷ 32,768

So the mathematical probability of landing in either 10,000× edge slot on a single drop is approximately 0.00305%.

Does 10,000× Appear Once Every 32,768 Drops?

No. This is one of the most important things to understand about probability.

“1 in 32,768” describes the probability of each individual drop. It is not a schedule telling the game when a 10,000× result must appear.

You could make 32,768 drops and never hit an edge slot. You could also, in principle, see two edge results much closer together.

Probability does not create a countdown.
Previous misses do not make the next drop “due” to hit 10,000×. Each independent drop starts with the same probability.

How Many Drops Give You a 50% Chance?

This is where the numbers become more interesting.

If the probability of a 10,000× result on one drop is 1 / 32,768, we can calculate the probability of seeing at least one such result over a larger number of drops.

Number of Drops Chance of at Least One 10,000×
1,000 ≈ 3%
5,000 ≈ 14%
10,000 ≈ 26%
≈ 22,713 ≈ 50%
32,768 ≈ 63%
50,000 ≈ 78%
100,000 ≈ 95%

The counterintuitive part is worth repeating: even after 32,768 drops, the probability of having seen at least one 10,000× result is only about 63%, not 100%.

How Can a 10,000× Multiplier Fit With 99% RTP?

A huge maximum multiplier does not tell you whether a game has a high or low RTP.

Stake lists Plinko with a theoretical 99% RTP. That figure comes from the complete payout table combined with the probability of every possible landing position, not from the maximum multiplier alone.

The 10,000× payout can be so large precisely because the edge result is extremely rare.

That also means comparing two Plinko games only by their maximum multiplier can be misleading. A game offering 10,000× does not automatically have a better RTP than one offering 1,000×.

Can You Increase the Chance of Hitting 10,000×?

The 10,000× slots are available in the current Stake Plinko configuration at Expert + 16 Rows. Choosing that configuration makes the 10,000× outcome available, but it does not give the player control over the path of the next ball.

Changing your bet size does not change the probability of the ball reaching an edge. Previous wins or losses do not make an edge result more likely on the next independent drop.

Can Stake Plinko Results Be Verified?

Stake Plinko uses a Provably Fair system that allows completed results to be checked. Provably Fair does not improve the odds of winning; it provides a way to verify how a result was generated.

The 10,000× multiplier is a real outcome in Stake Plinko, but it sits at the extreme edge of the distribution. The average rate of 1 in 32,768 should be understood as a probability, not a promise that the result will appear after a particular number of drops.
